I love to cook. And while I don’t claim to be an expert, I’ve picked up a few tricks along the way.
-Before seasoning, pat your steak dry with paper towels. A dry steak gets a nice exterior crust as it cooks.
- Season liberally. A good steak doesn’t need steak sauce, but it does need a healthy dash of salt and pepper or a steak seasoning blend!
- Buy yourself an instant read digital thermometer. Insert it horizontally into the thickest part of your steak, and remove the steak from the pan or grill 5 degrees before desired doneness.
- Let your steak rest before eating. I know, this is HARD. But it’s worth it. Your steak will finish cooking to the desired temperature and the juices will redistribute, leaving you with an amazing eating experience.
- Don’t forget to butter your steak. Yeah, I said it.
